Introducing our Director for Hampshire and Dorset
We are delighted to announce that John Samuel has taken up a role serving churches and their leaders on the south coast.
FIEC’s growing team of Local Directors exists to help churches and church leaders in a regional way that the central FIEC team can’t do.
The team is made up of men across the country experienced in church ministry who can act as a ‘pastor to pastors’, give support and advice, and potentially draw churches together or catalyse partnerships in the region.
We see this as an important way that leaders of FIEC churches can be strengthened to work together to reach Britain for Christ.
Local Directors have been appointed over the past year in South Wales, the West Midlands, Yorkshire, and Suffolk. Now, John Samuel has also joined the team, working a day a week on a voluntary basis as our Local Director for Hampshire and Dorset.
John was the pastor of Duke Street Church in Richmond, London until recently, having retired and moved to Southampton in 2023. John brings many years of pastoral experience and will be a wonderful resource to the FIEC churches in this area on the south coast.
Commenting on the role, John Samuel said: “I am very thankful to the Lord for the privilege of serving FIEC churches in the Hampshire and Dorset region. Having been a pastor for 30 years, my prayer is that I would especially support the FIEC pastors in the area.”
FIEC Head of Local Ministries, Graham Beynon added: “I am delighted that John is taking up this role for Hampshire and Dorset. Our local directors are a key way that FIEC provides help and support to churches, and John is ideally suited this role.
“His years of experience in ministry mean he will be able to give advice and counsel to leaders, respond to issues that arise, and help galvanise partnership between churches. We hope this will be significant step for the churches in the region.”
