Introducing our Director for Essex
We are delighted to announce that Simon Medcroft will serve as our Local Director for churches in Essex.
One of the ways we are serving our churches "on the ground" is by appointing men to serve as Local Directors: supporting and encouraging the work and ministry of local churches in different regions of Britain.
With that in mind, we are delighted that Simon Medcroft has been appointed to serve as Director for Essex.
Simon has served as pastor at Danbury Mission for 20 years and will now be seconded to FIEC for one day a week to serve affiliated churches in Essex - one of the fastest growing but least churched counties in the UK.
The role will build on the work Simon is already doing with Mission Essex, a small network helping to plant and revitalise churches across the county.
He joins a team of nine local directors, led by our Head of Local Ministries Graham Beynon. He said:
“I’m delighted that Simon is joining our growing team of local directors. He will be a source of encouragement, support, and advice to our churches in Essex, as well as helping galvanise the church planting and revitalising that Essex so desperately needs.”
Simon reflected:
“Having been born in Essex, grown up in Essex, become a Christian in Essex, and pastored a church in Essex, I have inevitably grown a big heart for the county. It is therefore a privilege to have the opportunity to serve FIEC churches as we seek to reach out with the good news of Jesus to this lost and needy region."
