Sharing the good news of Jesus Christ must be the very heartbeat of FIEC churches. We want to invest in mission and evangelism to ensure that being an FIEC church is associated with being a gospel-driven church.

Connect for Growth

Could your church benefit from a boost by short-term visits from a USA mission team? Or maybe you’re a congregation in need of a leader, and would welcome an American pastor to help you through?

Connect for Growth, facilitated by FIEC and the Mississippi Baptist Convention (MBC), matches British churches with suitable USA partner churches that can send workers to help with growth.

American church support can be provided in the form of a small team to help stage mission weeks, or a minister (usually retired) or other worker to take up a longer-term placement.

Mark Howson is the coordinator of the initiative (formerly Churches in Partnership), and is keen to help more FIEC churches to forge transatlantic church partnerships.

Having worked with many congregations in Britain, and spent time with missionaries from Mississippi, USA, Mark has seen how Americans can bring fresh eyes and new energy to churches that have run out of steam. He’s also seen how MBC visitors can contribute to helping church plants to get to the next level.

Earlesfield Community Church in Grantham is among the FIEC churches already taking part. You can read more about how Connect for Growth is helping them.

If your church would like more information about taking part in the initiative, please encourage your leaders to contact the FIEC office.
