Simon Medcroft
Director for Essex
Simon became a follower of Jesus at the age of 16 and was first introduced to FIEC at university when he attended Knighton Free Church in Leicester. After university, he was a school teacher in Wokingham and became a member at Carey Baptist Church in Reading. Simon subsequently trained part-time at Oak Hill Theological College whilst also working at Carey.
He has served as a pastor at Danbury Mission in Danbury, a large village outside Chelmsford, Essex, since 2004.
In 2025, Simon was seconded to FIEC for one day a week to serve affiliated churches in Essex as Director for Essex.
He also established and directs Mission Essex: a small network helping to plant and revitalise churches across the county.
Simon is married to Fleur and they have two post-school age children.
