Introducing our Director for North Wales
We are pleased to announce that Ben Midgely has joined our team of Local Directors, serving churches and their leaders in north Wales.
Ben has been a pastor since 2005 and has pastored at Ebenezer Baptist Church Mold since 2019. He also serves as chair for the International Mission to the Jewish People and Reach North Wales - a group set up to facilitate church planting and revitalisation.
He has now taken up a role for FIEC serving as Director for North Wales, seconded for one day per week from Ebenezer Mold.
There are a dozen FIEC churches across north Wales, spread out amongst the 700k people who live there. So, staying connected and encouraged is key to their spiritual health and mission.
The role Ben is taking up involves offering support and advice to pastors and churches and strengthening partnerships across the region.
FIEC’s growing team of Local Directors allows a level of support on the ground which the FIEC central team has not been able to provide. This as an important way that leaders of FIEC churches can be strengthened to work together to reach Britain for Christ.
Reflecting on the role, Ben said: “Personally, I am excited about the passion and hard work of what are quite a young group of men who the Lord has called to serve in North Wales. We already enjoy good relations with each other, and with other evangelicals who care about the gospel in the context of Gogledd Cymru - that's north Wales to you!
If we can maintain and grow our faith, build and deepen our fellowship, share our love for Christ, and give and receive help as needed, I hope we can push in to our ministries and out from our churches for gospel advance.”
Graham Beynon, FIEC Head of Local Ministries, added: “Ben brings many years of pastoral experience to this role and the wider staff team. I both hope and expect this will be of great benefit to church leaders and churches in north Wales and I'm delighted this is happening.”
