Introducing: our Director for Central England

One of the ways the FIEC is providing help to churches is through ‘Local Directors’: men, experienced in church ministry, who can give time to the leaders and churches in a specific region of the country. This allows a level of support on the ground which the FIEC central team has not been able to provide.

As we seek to offer support like this across more of the United Kingdom, we are happy that Michael Teutsch has been appointed to serve as Director for Central England, covering the area south of the Midlands from Coventry to Bedfordshire.

Michael was born in Texas, USA, but moved to Britain to study at London Theological Seminary in 1984. He has served in local churches since then, including as pastor at Flitwick Baptist Church, Bedfordshire, for 19 years and as associate pastor at Highfields Church in Cardiff for 8 years.

During that time, he also served on the FIEC Trust Board, and has been involved in church planting in Milton Keynes and in mentoring and training in South Wales, including with the Resource South Wales Training Programme.

He joins a team of ten Local Directors, led by one of our Associate National Directors, Graham Beynon. He commented:

"I’m delighted that Michael Teutsch is able to take up this position. He brings many years of experience in pastoral ministry and is well placed to advise and encourage our church leaders. We are seeing real benefit in having Local Directors on the ground both responding to issues in our churches as well as taking proactive initiatives. It’s great that Michael joins that growing team."

Michael said:

“Early in my ministry, Dick Lucas taught me that "when God’s word is taught clearly, people hear God". Over serving three churches in the past 39 years, I have sought to work out that passion to teach God’s word clearly and simply.  My passion is to teach others to open of the Bible faithfully and so to help raise up the next generation of gospel workers.”
