Announcing Our New Director for London

FIEC’s Local Directors are a team of men experienced in church ministry, who offer support and advice to pastors and catalyse church partnerships at a local level.

We see this as a key way leaders of FIEC churches can be strengthened and work together to reach Britain for Christ, in a way that the central staff team can’t do.

As of autumn 2026, there are 93 FIEC churches and church plants within Greater London, representing 14% of the Fellowship. Such a concentration of churches in such a pivotal region of the country makes London an important area to offer support.

Our new Director for London

We are excited to announce that, from April 2027, Nathan Howard will be taking up the role of Director for London, succeeding Johnny Prime as he stands down after March.

Nathan has extensive experience of church ministry in London, is currently one of the pastors at Enfield Town Community Church, and leads Together for Mission, a mission group seeking to plant and revitalise in the Enfield area.

As Director for London, he will be connecting with Independent evangelical churches to encourage them to work together for the gospel across London. He will be helping them to grow and be more effective in their mission and actively encouraging new churches to be planted where there is real gospel need.

He will lead a diverse team of gospel workers to help with this task and will be a regular face at events across London, including our own London Gatherings and Local Conferences.

Nathan joins our team of Local Directors based around the country, guided by our Associate National Director, Graham Beynon. He said:

Nathan is building on great foundations laid by Trevor Archer and then Johnny Prime, and it is exciting to see how God will use him to help our churches in reaching London for Christ."

“Right now I’m a bundle of mixed emotions about taking on this new role with the FIEC. 

“A bit sad to be stepping back from a church family and ministry I love in Enfield Town. A bit daunted by what’s new and unknown. A lot excited about the opportunity to work alongside and support the FIEC churches in London as we seek to reach this city for Christ.

“I’m excited to play my part in seeing FIEC in London grow as a network of churches encouraging one another, equipped for ministry in this urban context, and expanding as we plant and revitalize churches. I love this city, I love the pastors and churches who work in this city, and I can’t wait to see what Jesus will do in the coming years as we be the FIEC in London.”
