Domestic abuse is sinful yet often hidden. This model statement and framework for churches encourages awareness, sets out the church’s convictions, and explains how they will respond in practice.

Domestic abuse is a serious problem which occurs among church attendees as well as in wider society. In all its forms, it is sinful and incompatible with the Christian faith and a Christian way of living.

Each church has a responsibility to listen to, take seriously, support, and care for those reporting or affected by domestic abuse.
