It's a blessing to have people in our churches willing to volunteer for service in church life.
To help us find, identify, and equip volunteers to lead in the church, we need to think about two topics:
- Authority helps us know who is in charge in the church.
- Leadership helps clarify who we should follow in the church.
Q&A
- Should we title a 'lead pastor', or call everyone pastor/elder?
- How do we help elders to shepherd when there is lots of service to be done - especially in legal areas?
- How do elders and deacons interact without overlapping?
- How do staff teams fit into the officers of elder and deacon?
- Should deacons be voted on, and should they meet as a group?
This is the first talk of five from Trusted Hands: the post-conference event that followed the 2024 Leaders' Conference. It included five sessions with Brian Croft to help explore how to train and deploy volunteer leaders across the church.
