Evangelism: Making it Central
The first of two seminars given by Daf Meirion-Jones and Pete Woodcock at our 2018 Leaders' Conference.
Evangelism is not a part of the church programme, it is the purpose of the church to declare the praises of God to the world around us in these days of salvation. In this first seminar we look at how we can orientate the church around reaching the lost, do the work of an evangelist and encourage our people to have a mission mindset in their everyday lives.
Daf has been Senior Pastor of Chessington Evangelical Church (CEC) for two years. Before that he was Vicar of All Saints Preston in Lancashire. Like most Christians he feels a bit of a wimp when it comes to personal evangelism and yet is utterly convinced of the need for all people to hear the gospel. He has been hugely encouraged by the passion of folk at CEC to see people come to Christ and their willingness to invite them both to events and to read the Bible 1-to-1.
Pete is Senior Pastor of Cornerstone Church Kingston, London. He is married to Anne, and they have two children. Over the years, Pete has started and been directly involved with a number of evangelistic and gospel outreach ministries, including ‘Good News Bus Ministries’ and ‘The Big Issue’ – a youth-leaders training day.
