Pathways to Christ: The Evangelism Conference

Across the United Kingdom, church leaders are recognising a shift in the spiritual landscape. 

For years, the prevailing narrative has been one of decline - shrinking congregations, cultural scepticism, and a sense that Christian faith was steadily losing ground. Yet recent research, conversations with leaders, and stories from local churches all indicate that something far more hopeful, is taking place.

Younger generations are especially showing a remarkable new openness to exploring the Christian faith. Bible engagement is rising, with sales increasing year on year.

The Finding Jesus report has highlighted clear pathways by which adults of all ages are coming to faith, often through relationships with Christians, seeking help with life, and moments of personal searching.

Alongside this, many churches are reporting that people outside their congregations are asking deeper questions about meaning, identity, and hope.

This emerging picture presents both opportunity and responsibility. If the spiritual temperature of the UK is warming, the church must be ready to respond with clarity, confidence, and compassion. Leaders need space to think, to listen, and to consider how best to shape pathways to Christ in their own contexts.

A conference built for this moment

A Passion for Life’s Evangelism Conference has been designed to help church leaders understand this cultural moment we are in and respond wisely.

Rather than offering quick fixes or abstract theory, the day will provide biblical encouragement, grounded insight, practical guidance, and honest reflection on the trends shaping mission today.

Through biblical exposition, keynote teaching, and seminars, church leaders and others with a heart for the lost will be equipped to:

• Interpret current missional trends with accuracy rather than assumption.
• Identify the pathways by which adults are coming to Christ, as highlighted in recent research.
• Consider how their churches can create environments where these pathways are strengthened.
• Reflect on the opportunities emerging in their communities and how to steward them well.

The aim is straightforward: to help leaders navigate this season with steadiness, conviction, and a renewed sense of hope.

Who is involved

This year’s keynote speaker is Phil Knox, Head of Gospel Impact at the Evangelical Alliance and co author of Finding Jesus: Identifying pathways to faith in adulthood.

Phil brings a rare combination of research insight, evangelistic experience, and national perspective. Having spent years travelling the country, preaching the gospel, and listening to leaders in diverse contexts, he is well placed to open up the conference theme and speak into the realities churches are facing.

Phil will be joined by:

• Rico Tice – Christianity Explored Ministries
• Nay Dawson – Passion for Evangelism
• Nick McQuaker – A Passion for Life

Together, they bring a breadth of experience across evangelism, discipleship, and cultural engagement.

Attend in person or on livestream

The Evangelism Conference will take place in-person at two central venues: Glasgow (7 October) and London (14 October).

There will also be a livestream to a network of Regional Hubs across the UK, including Aberdeen, Bournemouth, Cheshire, Eastbourne, Gateshead, Hull, Inverness, Leeds, Norwich, Sidmouth, and Truro. These hubs make the conference accessible to leaders who prefer to stay local and gather with others in their region while still engaging fully with the programme.
