Gather at Rising Lights
Rising Lights is a chance to gather with thousands of Christians from across the country and to spur one another on in our faith.
Growing up in a small church, one of things I most looked forward to was our annual trip to a Christian festival.
In fact, I now look back on those times with particular fondness, because I became a Christian at an Easter event: Spring Harvest in 1999.
Our church continued to encourage us to go to Christian festivals like this because the opportunity to gather with thousands of other Christians was such a positive experience. It helped us to realise that our church was a local expression of the church across the country.
Our hope is that Rising Lights will be a similar encouragement to you and your church.
The chance to gather with Christians from across the country and to lift our voices with thousands of others in sung worship is a great privilege. The opportunity to sit under God’s word together and to be equipped in our faith will help to serve the local church.
Rising Lights will remind us that there are people all around the country who follow the same Lord and Saviour, and are seeking to reach their communities with the gospel.
We’re not alone – and it’s so good to remember that!
Friends old and new
The programme at Rising Lights has been designed to include plenty of time in the day to meet with others.
You could use it to catch up with friends from around the country, to reconnect with those from your youth and student days, or to make new friends.
Or your church could use it as a whole-church trip away. The teaching programme is sorted, so you can gather with your church family and fellowships from around the country to be built up in your faith and equipped for the next season of ministry.
When we gather with Christians from around the country, we get to hear other perspectives and can encourage one another, like iron sharpening iron (Proverbs 27:17). Our tracks and seminars have been designed with that in mind.
Rachel Jones from The Good Book Company is leading a track on prayer, building on her popular book series. She said:
“I'm so looking forward to Rising Lights! It will be great to gather with Christians from lots of different churches to explore this vital subject together.”
