Important Requirements

Applications can only be considered from those who are UK citizens or who otherwise have a right to work in the UK.

You will need to be able to declare wholehearted acceptance of the FIEC doctrinal basis and agreement with the FIEC ethos statements.

The trainee scheme at Walton Evangelical Church is a one or two year programme, aiming to provide experience of gospel ministry in a context of training and mentoring. It is an opportunity to explore and develop gifts, and serve the local church.

The scheme follows three main strands - Training, Discipleship and Practical Ministry.

Trainees are given the opportunity to volunteer in a wide range of different settings within the church ministries, in addition to the paid hours of employment.

A trainee will need to be:

  • Committed to living with Jesus Christ as Lord
  • Committed to the application of God's Word to their own life
  • Committed to the family, mission, vision and values of Walton Evangelical Church
  • A mature Christian who is able to disciple younger Christians
  • Ready and willing to serve in a variety of tasks and responsibilities
  • Able and willing to work in a small team
  • Able to show initiative
  • Energetic and enthusiastic
