Important Requirements

Applications can only be considered from those who are UK citizens or who otherwise have a right to work in the UK.

You will need to be able to declare wholehearted acceptance of the FIEC doctrinal basis and agreement with the FIEC ethos statements.

Grace Church was established in 1994 as a result of a gospel stand made within the Methodist Church of South East Cornwall. The founding pastor served until 2006 in which 3 further fellowships were planted in the area. Being a very rural area which draws its members and attendees from a 25 mile radius, the church focuses on a Sunday morning service, Connect Groups mid-week, and the pastoral support of its members as they represent Jesus in their families and various communities.

The present leadership of 5 Elders with a further 2 Trustees, various Team Leaders [Deacons], Connect Group Leaders, a part time secretary, 2 part time site and events managers, and until recently - a part time youth worker and a part time children's worker, serve together in gospel centred unity despite the church being made up of representatives from many different denominational backgrounds. We focus on identity centred vision rather than goal orientated vision, and each year the church meets and prays together in various groups to unite over vision verses which direct our focus in the following year.

We have a 'word and Spirit' focus, pursuing the gifts and the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives through His word and empowerment, to reflect the character of Jesus and the message of the gospel. We are privileged to own a 6 acre site on which more buildings are added and re-structured for changing uses. The church has around 150-170 regular members and attendees with a large number of children, youth, and families.

We recognise that an assistant is once again needed to support the growing and developing work here so it can be developed rather than just sustained. Despite the relatively low wages in this tourist, farming, and fishing community along with the great needs we have, God has provided many times for the people and resources we need to manifest His kingdom here. This role has been financed for three years, but we hope and pray it will continue after that. We are not looking for an assistant to the pastor, but rather an assistant to the various ministries that God is developing here. We expect the assistant to help hold the weight of pastoral care and church life while the pastor helps facilitate and develop what fruit is being produced in the people.

Required Skills

We are more interested in a person's love for Jesus, their character, their relational capacity and perseverance, and ability to put gospel unity at the centre of decision making than any particular gift. Whatever abilities someone has apart from the 'apt to teach' requirement for being an Elder, we welcome as part of their contribution to the body of Christ here.

Interviews will be held 16th November-14th December.
Start date is 1st January 2027.
