Assistant Pastor

The Globe Church was planted in September 2015 by a group of FIEC London churches. By God's grace we have grown to about 220 adults and a small number of young children. We belong to the FIEC (Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches) and Co-Mission Church Planting Network. As a Central London church, we have some people who have settled longer term and others who are with us for a few years before moving out of London. We see this as a great opportunity to share Jesus and train people up for a lifetime of ministry. We also long to bless the local community around where we meet, the Elephant and Castle/London Bridge area.

Our church vision to be a church of all sorts of people, following Jesus in London, sent on the greatest mission.

To serve the church we currently have a staff team of one full-time Pastor, a full-time Operations Manager, a part-time Student Worker, two part time Ministry Leaders (working in pastoral care and discipleship), and a few Ministry Trainees. We are seeking to strengthen our team with the appointment of an Assistant Pastor.

Role Description

The person in this role will work closely with the Pastor in providing the pastoral leadership that our church family requires. This involves seeking, caring, feeding, and leading the family.

Seeking

We are looking for someone with some evangelistic experience and gifting. London is a city that desperately needs Jesus and we want the church to be better trained and equipped to engage more effectively in the city with the good news of Jesus.

Caring

Alongside the elders, the Assistant Pastor will help to oversee the pastoral care of our church family. Working with the Pastoral Care Group, the assistant pastor will be involved in some of the day-to-day care of people in our church.

Feeding

The Assistant Pastor will share in the preaching and teaching of our church family in Sunday gatherings and various other training opportunities. We are committed to building deep Biblical foundations in each member of The Globe Church.

Leading

The Assistant Pastor will be an elder and trustee of The Globe Church. The elders lead through prayerfully make decisions, enabling the membership to implement the vision of the church, and providing a clear direction for the future.

We expect the Assistant Pastor to be seeking to grow in all of these areas, and there is scope to arrange training, mentorship, and further study to support their development, according to the experience and requirements of the successful applicant.
