Chris Hawthorne
Pastor, Abbey Baptist Church
Chris has been serving as the pastor at Abbey Baptist Church in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, since January 2023. Prior to that, he was the principal of Proclamation Institute, Zambia.
Through his 26 years of ministry Chris has especially enjoyed seeing people from many different backgrounds coming to faith in Christ and worshipping him together.
Chris is married to Helen, and they have three (mainly grown-up) children. They have served in three churches within the M25, including 13 years as pastor in St John's Wood, in a church revitalisation. To relax, he plays golf to relax, keeps ants, and plays tabletop roleplaying games.
He is also part of the FIEC intercultural ministry team.
