Important Requirements

Applications can only be considered from those who are UK citizens or who otherwise have a right to work in the UK.

You will need to be able to declare wholehearted acceptance of the FIEC doctrinal basis and agreement with the FIEC ethos statements.

CCN is an evangelical church affiliated to the FIEC, planted in 2006. We have grown to be a church family in excess of 400, averaging 300 on a Sunday, drawn from across the city. As a church planted from scratch, we remain committed to multiplication, as evidenced by our ongoing involvement in church planting and revitalisation.

We aim as a church to reach out with the gospel, to grow as disciples of the Lord Jesus, going out to make Him known elsewhere. There is a strong commitment to growing together, providing support and care throughout the week, overflowing in love and blessing to our neighbours. Our Home Groups are integral to this, with well over 200 adults in groups. Whilst our centre of gravity tends to be 20s-30s, we have members across most ages, including around 120 under 18s and a growing seniors cohort.

We believe that pastoral care is the responsibility of the whole church family, with many needs being met informally and through Home Groups. We do, however, recognise that in a growing congregation, structure and co-ordination is required to ensure that all are well cared for; there will also always be more complex situations that require a higher level of pastoral experience and training. We are therefore seeking to employ a female Pastoral Worker to work alongside our Associate Pastor to support and co-ordinate pastoral care among the CCN family.

We will happily consider either full time or part time working for this role. While a part time candidate will largely commit to pastoral care and engagement with newcomers, in a full time role there would be the option to add in additional areas of ministry responsibility, such as music, evangelism, training, young people, seniors or operations.

Required Skills

As well as pastoral, organisational and project management skills, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate a vibrant personal Christian walk, a servant heart and a commitment to learning. Prior theological or pastoral care training is not a requirement; however, we would welcome candidates with training or who were willing to embark on a programme of study alongside their paid role.

Read the Job Description attached and complete the Application Form (https://forms.gle/kizVWS28JxD7dFjq8). Get in touch if you wish to have an informal chat with Hugo Charteris (CCN Senior Pastor) before applying.

Applications may close sooner if a suitable candidate is found.
