Pastor/ Planter
Hope Church Vauxhall
Hope Church Vauxhall is seeking a godly, mission-minded man to join our team and lead the planting of a new church on one of the neighbouring estates. This is a full-time position that will begin with involvement in the pastoral ministry of Hope Church and gradually transition to full leadership of the church plant.
We are a small but growing church family in the heart of London, passionate about sharing the gospel, particularly among the overlooked and under-served communities of our city. We believe the local church is God's plan to bring lasting hope to our neighbours-and we're excited to plant again
Main Responsibilities:
Before the Plant Launch (in Hope Church):
- Share in preaching (approx. 10 times/year)Provide pastoral care with the elder team.
- Engage in outreach and ministry relevant to church planting
- Help build a planting team
Preparing & Leading the Plant:
- Lead evangelistic efforts and community engagement on one of the neighbouring estates
- Develop a planting strategy and secure a venue
- Raise financial and prayer support for the new work
- Train and raise up future leaders
- Transition into full leadership of the new church
Team & Wider Network:
- Work closely with Hope's full-time pastor and elders
- Be part of wider networks such as FIEC and Co-Mission for training, support, and accountability
Required Skills
We're Looking For Someone Who Is:
- A biblically qualified elder (1 Timothy 3, Titus 1)
- Passionate about estate ministry and church planting
- Evangelistic and prayerful
- Theologically trained or with equivalent ministry experience
- Skilled in preaching, pastoral care, and leadership
- Comfortable ministering in a multicultural, urban context
- Organised, adaptable, and a team player
Desirable:
- Experience of council estate or cross-cultural ministry
- Recognised evangelistic gifting
- Previous eldership/team leadership experience
