Newtown Evangelical Church
We are a church with a growing congregation and 124 members, located in the largest town in Powys. We are currently considering building an extension to our main auditorium. Our congregation is drawn from the town and surrounding villages. We are seeking to both reach Newtown and the surrounding area with the gospel and also to act as a hub church for our part of mid-Wales and the Borders, supporting smaller churches and training leaders.
Our current Pastor leads a team of six elders (including himself and an Assistant Pastor), and also leads whatever staff team we have at a given time. We strive to enable the pastors (and the other elders) to devote themselves to prayer and the ministry of the word as far as possible.
Required Skills
We are looking for a man who already has some pastoral experience, who is gifted at expository preaching, and who is able to lead well the team of elders as they lead the church, including training up potential elders.
