Assistant Pastor
Emmanuel Church Leftwich
Emmanuel Church, Leftwich is a gospel centred, welcoming and growing evangelical church situated on the outskirts of the Cheshire market town of Northwich. There are currently over 70 church members and around 130 attending on a Sunday. The church consists of people from a wide variety of ages, backgrounds and cultures. Some members have been in the church for years while others have joined more recently. We are seeing a growth in the number of younger adults and families as well as older people joining the fellowship.
Role Overview: We are looking for an enthusiastic, gospel-hearted man, sensing a call from God into pastoral ministry, to join us as our Assistant Pastor. This is an exciting opportunity to help strengthen and grow our church family, encouraging and equipping believers in their faith while reaching out to the surrounding communities with the good news of Jesus.
We are seeking the Lord's will to call the right person with the necessary character more than someone to fulfill the criteria of a specific job description.
Depending on your experience and gifting you will be involved in some or all of the following:
- A share of the preaching on Sundays
 - Small group ministries
 - Pastoral care
 - Community outreach opportunities and initiatives and helping the church to think evangelistically
 - Ministry specifically focussed on a particular aspect of church life, e.g. children, youth, young families or young adults
 - Schools work (we have good links with the local primary school and have opportunities to take assemblies)

Suitability: This opportunity would be suitable for a man with a mature faith who has recently completed some form of theological training, demonstrated gifting in expository preaching and is looking for a first or second appointment. The successful candidate would be prayerfully-dependent and pastor-hearted, passionate about teaching God's Word, discipling believers, and working under our Senior Pastor to lead and shepherd the church.

Required Skills
Requirements:
- You will have been recognised by your current church as someone with the potential to meet the qualifications of an overseer set out for leaders in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
 - You will have shown evidence of the pastoral heart and attitude of an under shepherd expressed in 1 Peter 5:1-4.
 - You will be continuing to grow in your own personal daily walk and prayerful relationship with the Lord, which will be seen in your character.
 - You will have an awareness of your own strengths and weaknesses, can work well with others as part of an eldership team, be willing to be accountable to others.
 - You have a heart to see the Church of Jesus Christ built up and increase for his glory.
