Assistant Pastor

We are looking for an Assistant Pastor to join our growing church, located 15 miles south of Oxford in the historic town of Wantage. You will engage in a wide range of ministries and support the spiritual health and direction of the church.

We are looking for someone fully committed to the Lord, with a heart for drawing alongside people to help them come to - and grow in - faith.

The successful appointee will gain further ministry experience within our church family, whilst taking on oversight of an area of church life (for example Life Groups, outreach, schools engagement). If gifted, you will preach approximately once a month and support additional teaching opportunities run throughout the year.

You will support the pastoral care of church members, in a variety of contexts (including small groups and 1:1). We would also expect to see the development of new ministries in line with your particular gifting and passion.

This is a full-time position, with a three month probationary period and annual review. Applications can only be considered from those who are UK citizens or who otherwise have a right to work in the UK.

You will need to be able to declare wholehearted acceptance of the FIEC doctrinal basis and agreement with the FIEC ethos statements. There is a genuine occupational requirement that this role be fulfilled by a male.

Required Skills

Relational, theologically sound, able to teach (in a variety of contexts) and able to communicate well with a range of people. You must have a heart for people, with a view to providing spiritual encouragement and direction throughout the week.
