Pastor
Oldham Bethel Church
Oldham Bethel Church is a multicultural church close to Oldham town centre, with around 40 members from Britain, Europe, the Americas, Africa and the Middle East, particularly Iran. We are in an area called Glodwick, which is around 90% South Asian Muslim, and have active links with the Muslim community.
We have a plurality of elders, who all preach and help lead the church in other ways, such as in our home groups. We are looking for a pastor who will do the majority of the preaching, and will help lead the church and the elders as we seek to evangelise and make disciples in this needy area.
We belong to FIEC, North West Gospel Partnership & Medhurst Ministries, and are theologically reformed and baptistic in practice. Due to the size and demographic of the church, much of our funding comes from external sources.
Required Skills
1. Love for God and his people, along with the New Testament requirements for an elder.
2. Experience in ministry, either as a pastor or another role in the local church.
3. Ability to preach and teach in a mixed environment of educational and language skills.
4. Ability to draw alongside people and help them to think and live Biblically.
5. A heart for evangelism in a town of mixed cultures and deprivation
