Eden Baptist Church is an evangelical and reformed city-centre church seeking to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to Cambridge and the wider world.

We are seeking a new Operations Manager, to be responsible for ensuring that the church's practical requirements are met in relation to the resources, activities and events of the church. This will include areas such as oversight of major projects, regulatory compliance and buildings.

We are looking for a candidate who can take a strategic approach to facilitating the church's vision and ministry. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to our life and outreach. For further details please contact [email protected].

Required Skills

Spiritual/Personal
• A mature Christian, who shows godliness in their life and character and meets the requirements for leadership in the New Testament, as those set out in 1 Tim 3:8-10 for deacons.
• Committed to the Church's life, ministry and vision.
• Servant-hearted leader, willing to listen and change, prepared to invest in developing others.

Skills and qualities
• Leadership and delegation, ability to manage others well and to develop a team, including volunteer engagement and management
• Proactive and strategic thinking - anticipating problems and seeing where structures and processes can be improved
• Project management and problem solving
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, good at building relationships with a wide variety of people and recognising their gifts and abilities
• Capable of working on their own initiative and under pressure
• Management of competing demands and priorities
• Well-organised, efficient and effective in time-management
• Flexibility and adaptability, open to new ideas and to operating withing practical constraints
• Able to monitor and control operational costs to ensure good use of financial resources.
