Important Requirements

You will need to be able to declare wholehearted acceptance of the FIEC doctrinal basis and agreement with the FIEC ethos statements.

We seek to be a Bible-based, Christ-centred, prayer-driven church, nestled in the heart of the community, we want to see Jesus lifted high, in and around Sidmouth. Our congregation is currently small and mostly reflective of the local, older demographic but we want to reach the young people and families around us with the Gospel of Jesus, for the Glory of God.

We are seeking a man who is passionate to serve the church of Christ and who is qualified according to the Scripture to take the role of the assistant pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church Sidmouth, who is willing and gifted to work with children and youth.

We are seeking for a man who has a heart for the gospel and a deep desire to see the next generation grow in the knowledge and in the love of Jesus Christ. We are praying for someone who agrees wholeheartedly with our basis of faith and who is willing to submit to the vision and the leadership of the church.

The successful candidate will be expected and encouraged to organise and lead children and youth activities, encourage the church for youth work so we can provide an environment in which the youth are nourished in their faith in Christ.

Even though the main focus is the youth and the children's ministry we would expect and encourage the candidate to be involved in the wider church life according to their gifting.

This role would be appropriate for someone starting out on their ministry journey, as well as for someone with more experience.

Required Skills

Essential:
• A deep love for Jesus Christ and the gospel, with a clear calling to serve God and his church.
• Agreement with the church's core beliefs and willingness to live in alignment with biblical principles.
• Strong organisational and leadership skills to effectively manage youth programs and encourage the church community to work together.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build meaningful connections and encourage others too.
• Humility, teachability, and submission to church leadership and vision.

Desirable:
• To be willing to preach to all the congregation.
• Previous experience in youth/church ministry
