Important Requirements

Applications can only be considered from those who are UK citizens or who otherwise have a right to work in the UK.

You will need to be able to declare wholehearted acceptance of the FIEC doctrinal basis and agreement with the FIEC ethos statements.

Christ Church Newcastle (CCN), in partnership with North Shields Evangelical Church (NSEC), is seeking to plant a new church on the North Tyneside Coast.

For five months now members of CCN and NSEC have met monthly on a Sunday afternoon.

We desire to meet weekly, becoming an independently constituted church, reaching out to the tens of thousands of people living along the Coast.

We are looking for someone to take pastoral responsibility for this new church family going forward.

CCN is located in the Newcastle suburb of Heaton. It is a church family in excess of 400 people (100 under 18s), approaching 300 on a regular Sunday.

NSEC is a much smaller church situated near the mouth of the Tyne.

The relationship between CCN and NSEC is warm and collaborative.

Required Skills

Depending on the applicant, the shape of the role may vary.

One option is to be appointed as pastor of the new church straight away.

Another option is to join the CCN staff team, overseeing the weekly coastal gathering, alongside other ministry responsibilities at CCN.

This transition phase would be with a view to establishing the new church at the Coast.

Both NSEC and CCN are affiliated to the FIEC.

The next step would be to request more information from Kirstein Combrink (Operations Manager, CCN).
