Trinity West Church aims to be a flourishing community, proclaiming hope in Jesus from Shepherd’s Bush, West London. We are looking to appoint a Church Operations Manager who will help us work towards that aim by managing all the practical aspects of the church. This is an exciting opportunity to join us and make a significant contribution to our ministry.

The incumbent is finishing in June and ideally we'd like to make the hire before June.

The Church Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the practical organisation of the church and all its ministries, in line with the values and vision of the church. He/She will support the pastoral staff in their work of discipleship and evangelism by co-ordinating the practical aspects of church life, including the areas of finance, administration, communication, regulatory compliance and premises/facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To co-ordinate with the elders regarding their requirements for administration and practical support, including the weekly Sunday services, mid-week groups and other seasonal events as per the church diary.

To lead, recruit and develop non-pastoral staff, including interns and volunteers who will assist with the practical life of the church

To co-ordinate with the church treasurer and oversee the implementation of good financial controls, including timely and accurate financial reporting and a robust budgeting process.

To have delegated responsibility for regulatory compliance, including personnel/HR, risk management systems, health and safety, data protection.

To oversee and co-ordinate all internal and external communications (including the Charity Commission, HMRC and Companies House) on behalf of the church and the Elders.

To provide strategic oversight and facilitate change in church life as new opportunities arise, through the effective deployment of the church’s various resources.

To use IT systems and processes (e.g. ChurchSuite, podcasts, website, Xero) to maximise the benefits of technology to best meet the church’s aims.

To help develop strategy for major projects and oversee their implementation.

To liaise with the Elders regarding policy development and implementation.


Required Skills

  • Eager to support the vision of Trinity West Church.
  • Self-disciplined. Enjoys organising. Has an eye for detail.
  • Experienced in budgeting and financial management.
  • An enthusiasm to work with the pastoral team, deacons, interns and volunteers.
  • Able to communicate clearly and precisely, able to delegate tasks.
  • Able to respond flexibly to changes required at short notice.
  • Warm and friendly.
  • A reputation for integrity, humility, servant-heartedness and commitment.
  • Good IT skills. Experience with (or willingness to learn) Xero and ChurchSuite.
