Job Description:
The successful candidate will work alongside the elders and the pastor to shepherd the flock through Word ministry and prayer.
The special focus of the post is on outreach to the local community.
The precise nature of how to go about outreach in the local community will no doubt develop but it is envisaged that the successful candidate will...
- Equip the church to be bold and effective in personal witness, through teaching and preaching.
- Facilitate the church’s outreach by further developing the evangelistic thread in the church’s programme.
- Do the work of an evangelist, leading by example in personal witness and speaking at evangelistic events.
Our long-term aim is to be in the position to plant another church in the locality to serve the expanding town of Felixstowe.
Although we envisage this as a full-time position, a part-time arrangement is also possible.
Salary for the suitably qualified candidate will be in line with national pay scales for Beginning Teachers (ie starting at £30K pa) pro rata.
Employment will be as an office holder in the church, this means there is not a contract of employment but rather a memorandum of understanding between the office holder and the trustees. This will include a six month probation period.
The role will be at the very heart of the next steps for Bethesda Baptist Church and will provide opportunities for the successful candidate to develop their ministry.
