Leading Volunteers Through Covid and Beyond (Webinar)

How can we lead our church ministry volunteers well in this time of coronavirus restrictions, and beyond?

Watch/Listen on:

Much of the ministry in our churches is not just a work for full-time, paid gospel workers, but for volunteers. They staff our ministry teams and are responsible for much of our gospel work.

Some of those teams have not been functioning during lockdown and many of our volunteers are exhausted. As church begins to open more as lockdown is eased, there will be the challenge of drawing those teams back together and drawing new people in so it's important for us to think about how we care for and support our volunteers.

In this webinar, FIEC Church Leadership Consultant Ray Evans helps think through how to lead volunteers well in this time of coronavirus restriction, and beyond.

0:00 - Bible reflections (Psalm 123): God's people in exile must keep crying for mercy;

6:52 - Leading Volunteers Through Covid and Beyond;

37:10 - Q&A;

  • How do you move somebody out of a volunteer role who isn't gifted in it?

Coronavirus update

FIEC National Director John Stevens also gave an update on the coronavirus lockdown and its implications for churches. He mentioned an article which you can read here: Seven Reasons You Must Not Abandon Your Online Services. He also answered two questions from those in attendance:

  • Is open air ministry allowed as a reason to leave home for 'work' during lockdown?
  • Should a church in an area being tested for the South African variant still meet this Sunday?
