Rebuild Conference: The Post-Pandemic Church
Join pastors, church staff, and other church leaders for two days of fellowship and encouragement as we reflect on what has changed since Covid-19.
It’s been a long and strange couple of years, so the Rebuild conference on 20-21 June in Newport, Wales will be a timely opportunity for church leaders to reflect on what has changed in the church since Covid-19, while remembering that the gospel of the Lord Jesus hasn’t.
Speakers including Steve Robinson and Paul Mallard will contribute to two days of teaching with plenary sessions, seminars, and discussions. The organisers hope the gathering will facilitate connections and encouragement among leaders from across the country, especially as they take stock and look ahead post the pandemic.
The conference is sponsored by Union and includes three main sessions on ‘Rebuilding the Soul’, ‘Rebuilding the Church’, and ‘Rebuilding the World’. A range of accompanying seminars will look at topics such as deconstruction, grief, mental health, politics, and transgenderism.
FIEC are delighted to serve Rebuild and, among others with FIEC connections, I will lead a seminar on ‘The Church and the State Post-Covid’.
The last two years have seen an unprecedented level of State control over church activities. There have been protests, police visits, petitions, court hearings and much soul searching as the church has tried to balance good citizenship with gospel prerogatives. The conference will be a chance to consider some of the lessons learnt in this area along with their implications for future church and state relations.
You can find more details on the full programme and speakers – and book your tickets – on the Rebuild conference website.
