Asking God for More

Are we praying boldly as a family of churches? We’d like to help your church pray for the work of our Fellowship.

Our vision to reach Britain for Christ is, humanly speaking, a daunting task. We can only hope to see our nation reached with the gospel if we’re committed to prayer; bringing our pleas to an Almighty God who can do more than we can ask or imagine.

That’s why we recently sent a prayer leaflet to every FIEC church, which encourages you to pray for our ministry, our churches and our partners.

Called Asking God for More, it could be used in a service, homegroup or prayer meeting, but it also includes links to other FIEC prayer resources so you can continue to pray with us throughout the year.

We’d love your church to use this leaflet as together we cry to the Lord of the harvest that we would see more men, women and children coming to faith and being discipled in Britain.

These prayer leaflets are available free of charge from the FIEC office and we’d encourage you to order more copies to distribute to your congregation to fuel your prayers. You can also download a preview copy if you haven’t already seen it.

Will you pray with us?

The prayer leaflet was included with this year’s annual membership renewal form that all FIEC churches will have recently received. It’s easy to see the form as a bureaucratic chore – or an administrative box-ticking exercise that you could do without. Yet in reality it’s an essential opportunity to affirm that your church shares the same gospel convictions as other FIEC churches.

That’s vital if we’re going to take seriously our mission to be “Independent churches working together.” Churches that don’t believe the same gospel can’t work together in mission and ministry.

That doesn’t mean all FIEC churches are the same in style, culture and church government, but it does mean that the core doctrinal convictions of every FIEC church are the same. This enables partnerships to grow and flourish as we seek to reach Britain for Christ.

The form also asks your church for your annual donation to FIEC, along with some other information about church attendance and conversions. Both the money and the information will help us to support churches like yours even more effectively.

It would really help our ministry support team if you could send your membership renewal back promptly – and do let us know if we can send your church more copies of our prayer leaflet.

Here are some recent examples of our churches working together:
