New Life Church Middlesbrough is looking for a trainee women’s worker to join our growing team.

About us

New Life Church was planted in 2013 with the aim of reaching the council estates of East Middlesbrough with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are a community of believers who live in, work in and reach out into the local area. We are well-known and well-respected in the local community, and want to see lives transformed by the gospel.

About the job

  • Church life. We are a close-knit family of believers. We’re not just looking for somebody we can employ, but someone who will be a part of our church life together.
  • Intentional living. The role will involve living in the local area and seeking to share both your life and the gospel with local people.
  • Teaching. There will be opportunities to develop your skill in teaching others.
  • Outreach and evangelism. There will be opportunities to be part of our current outreach programs, as well as to lead, develop and even start new initiatives.
  • Children’s and young people’s work.  We run a number of groups for children, young people and families which you will have involvement with.
  • Discipleship and pastoral care. You will be involved in discipling and caring for others as those occasions arise.

The role will also involve whatever other tasks might be useful to the church. Some aspects of the role will depend on the individual applicant and their experience.

This position is available either full-time or part-time.

Required Skills

  • Servant-hearted. We are looking for someone who is willing to get involved in people’s messy lives, who is not afraid to love and serve others.
  • Grace-filled. Somebody who is compassionate and forgiving is vital.
  • Biblically driven. Somebody who knows and loves the word and understands that it is the only tool we have.
  • Willing to learn. Our context is quite different to what many people will be used to, and the role will involve working alongside some people with complex needs. This problem is not insurmountable, but a willingness to learn is vital.
