Currently the fellowship has no elders but there are five deacons who act as managing trustees.
Over the last 30 years we have had a succession of men as fully supported pastor/teachers, initially as part of a team of elders (the others not being supported financially by the members). The last two pastors have been lone elders however, and this is the situation that the in-coming, fully supported pastor would inherit.
Sufficient and appropriate to provide godly leadership, preaching and teaching, and pastoral care for the benefit and development of BEC. Primarily this would be through the exposition and application of God’s Word, to the church as a whole and individuals.

Bethany Evangelical Church
The members of the Church are drawn from a largely economically deprived, working class area of South Yorkshire. The church’s building is situated on a main road linking two towns, but is more conveniently situated for work premises and facilities than housing – which humanly speaking does not make it an ideal location and a move to a more centrally located, useful and usable building has been in the mind of the fellowship.
