The pastor will offer pastoral leadership to the congregation alongside elders and work with them to ensure that the systems, practices, and policies of the church support its vision and ministry activities.
To be able to preach, give importance to prayer both personal and corporate, challenge, train, counsel, guide and effectively communicate God's truth are key requirements of this role.
At Romford Evan we seek to honour God by fulfilling His commandment to love Him and our neighbour with whole hearts and His commission to bring others to know, love and follow Him through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Matthew 22:37-39 and 28:18-20
(The short form) Love God, Love your neighbour, Go make disciples.
We do this by teaching biblical truth and seeking God through prayer so that we grow in depth through discipleship, closer through fellowship, in size through evangelism and in breadth by extending our ministry.
Growing through Discipleship
We seek to learn more about God, and to grow deeper in our knowledge of and relationship with Him. We do this by studying and applying biblical principles.
Growing through Fellowship
We seek to grow closer by encouraging each other personally, in small groups and in corporate worship as we meet together in the week and on Sundays.
Growing through Evangelism
We seek to grow in size through evangelistic outreach as we take the message of Jesus’ death and resurrection to our local community and beyond.
Growing through Ministry
We seek to grow in breadth by extending our ministry through word and practical activity as we provide support and encouragement within our local community and beyond
