Christ Church is a recent church plant in the Longbridge area of south west Birmingham. In partnership with 2020 Birmingham, we have the opportunity for a pastor or planter in training with an emphasis on community outreach to come and join us from September. We're particularly looking for someone who wants to train for future ministry while working in the context of a local church. We’re able to offer a paid part time role with 2.5 days a week (including Sundays) given over to working for the church. This is offered on the basis that the unpaid remainder of the week will be used to pursue theological education, either in part-time campus based learning or distance learning. The role is highly flexible depending on the person and the nature of the training.
The successful applicant will work alongside the leadership team of the church with a vision to help us as a church better engage with and reach out to our local community. We will support and equip you for future ministry or planting with a particular emphasis on the need and opportunities within the city of Birmingham and surrounding areas.
Full details of the role are available by contacting John directly.
You will have evidence of teaching gifts, and a passion for evangelism.
You will be a mature Christian, an active member of your local church and able to provide a reference from your current pastor/ elders.
You will need to have a specific commitment to training and have had some formal or informal training in ministry as well having had some practical experience of ministry in the past.
You will also need to be prepared to fund your own training, although support and help will be provided to do this.
No university degree is required and candidates from similar working class communities would be strongly encouraged to apply.
Applications can only be considered from those who are UK citizens or who otherwise have a right to work in the UK.
You will need to be able to declare wholehearted acceptance of the FIEC doctrinal basis and agreement with the FIEC ethos statements.
