Associate Pastor

Southbourne Evangelical Church Bournemouth is at the eastern seaward side of Bournemouth very near the sea front, situated in a residential area with many older residents, some families and some younger singles and couples.
There are two Sunday services, a meeting for Prayer and Bible Study, an under 3’s mid-week group and a women’s home group. We a lead monthly services in a care home and in a block of residential flats for the elderly.
We are looking to appoint a part time Associate Pastor to work with the Senior Pastor to provide practical and spiritual support to the church and congregation and to teach and build up the church and to take the lead in outreach to and in the community.
Limited financial support may be available, no accommodation is available. This position could be combined with a part-time job or a training course or suit a man who is taking early retirement and has some of his own income.

Required Skills

Able to relate to all age groups, enjoys getting to know people and is sensitive in listening to their needs with evidence of pastoral gifts. Eager to see the church grow and each member develop and use their gifts. An ability to lead and a willingness to serve. Able to preach, teach and lead worship with pastoral theological training / undertaking training or relevant experience. An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required.
