Bradley Stoke Evangelical Church (BSEC) is situated in the town of Bradley Stoke, a few miles North of Bristol. Our mission is to know God and to make Him known. Our aim is to give everyone in our area the opportunity to hear and believe the gospel and to be a church of loving, prayerful and effective witnesses to all those we meet.
We started as a small church plant in the 1990’s and have grown steadily; we now have 80 adult members and over 40 younger people meeting regularly. The church is diverse in age and background and includes many young families and many nationalities.
As we thank God for the continuing numerical growth we have seen in recent years, we believe we need to appoint a Pastoral Assistant to help our Pastor with all aspects of his ministry in the church and with particular responsibility for our growing work among young people.
While the role will be flexible to fit the man appointed, it will include preaching and teaching, outreach and responsibility for the ministry to young people.
We are seeking a man with some theological training who has a heart for the Lord, the gospel, the lost and for young people, and who has a call to full-time ministry.
Ideally this is a full-time role, but it could be combined with some further ministry training.
The Pastoral Assistant will have responsibility for:
- Leadership of ministry to young people
- Discipleship and pastoral care of young people and relevant ministry leaders
- BSEC involvement in schools work
- Outreach to young people
- Assisting with pastoral care of the church
- Some preaching and teaching
- Assisting with outreach to the Bradley Stoke community
A heart for the Lord, the lost and the gospel
A call to full-time ministry
Experience of ministry to young people
Some theological training
Applications can only be considered from those who are UK citizens or who otherwise have a right to work in the UK.
You will need to be able to declare wholehearted acceptance of the FIEC doctrinal basis and agreement with the FIEC ethos statements.
