The church is located in a village in a rural area between Wigan and Southport in West Lancashire. We are looking for a full time pastor to undertake the ministry in the church who is able to communicate well, in one to one pastoral situations.  He will need to empathise with people of all ages.

The church is looking for a person with a vision who can continue to take the Lord's work forward.  A teaching ministry is important with an enthusiastic approach to evangelism motivating the Lord's people in His service.

A preference would be for a married man but, a single man, who had the appropriate gifts would be considered.  This should be regarded as a church replant requiring commitment and perseverance.  Providing scriptural principles are maintained and the primacy of preaching God's Word, as commanded by our Lord in communicating the Gospel, the church is open to different ideas and methods.  Applicants would need to subscribe to the constitution which is Reformed and Baptistic.

We are in a village situation close to other small communities and towns. There are great opportunities for growth and development.

The congregation of the church is approximately 25 to 30 ranging in ages from 6 to 90 years within which there is a membership of 16.

Required Skills

Parbold Evangelical Church has a very strong evangelistic and missionary vision, giving prayerful and financial support to a number of organisations representing breadth and balance across the different fields of mission.  The outreach of the church normally incorporates both annual and regular events such as, monthly coffee mornings and light lunches, bi-weekly ladies' meetings, a youth club, an annual Holiday Bible Club, a main evangelistic event each year and literature distribution throughout the area.  These events are well attended providing opportunities to share the Gospel.

Our last pastor retired 6 years ago.  During this period the building facilities have been radically improved to economise on heating a large building and to provide a warm and hospitable environment in which to welcome the church family, friends and visitors.

A 3 bedroomed semi-detached house is situated nearby and is owned by the church.  This property would be available rent free to the pastor if required.

Applicants should make their submission with a full cv and covering letter stating the reason for their application.
