Silver Street Community Church is a young, diverse church family in a deprived part of North London. We were planted 8.5 years ago and by God’s grace we are faced with more opportunities than we can make the most of!

We’re looking to appoint a godly, gifted gospel worker who can support the existing leaders by taking responsibility for overseeing some of the areas of church life that could do with some more input. This would likely include overseeing our under-18s ministries and/or our outreach ministries, thereby helping with our aim to make Jesus known as we grow to know him better.

The focus of this role is not to do ALL the ministry but to equip the saints for works of service – mobilizing, guiding and growing existing volunteers, and building those teams.

This could work well as a training role; we’d been keen to discuss creating time and space for study & learning. This role is open to men and women, with particular tasks and responsibilities as appropriate, in agreement with Scripture.

Required Skills

As a teaching and leadership role that serves the church it is to be conducted in a manner that matches the characteristics outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7. We expect all staff to be imitators of our Lord Jesus, seeking to be servant hearted (Mark 10:45), respectful of others (Rom 12:10), and all duties carried out with a glad and willing heart.

Main duties could include:

* Leading or supporting existing children’s / youth teams (Weekly)

Regular Bible teaching at children’s clubs (Weekly)

Organizing training for our children’s workers (Yearly)

Overseeing our outreach events programme (Termly)

Involvement in our outreach ministries (weekly)

Involvement with our yearly summer youth camp (yearly)

As time allows, there may be opportunities to be involved in general church ministries. The details of specific responsibilities will be agreed in the setting of annual objectives and regularly reviewed with the line manager.
