We are an evangelical church in the West Midlands (north of Birmingham), committed to glorifying God by being faithful to his Word, by caring for one another, and by making disciples of Jesus Christ.

The traineeship position is for one year (September 2022-July 2023), with the possibility of extending to a second year by mutual agreement. It's purpose is to provide a focussed opportunity for someone interested in pursuing full-time ministry to gain ministry training and experience. The traineeship will provide opportunity to grow in Christian conviction, Christian character, and competence in doing the work of Christian ministry.

This will involve: Formal training through participation in the Midlands Gospel Training Course in Birmingham one day per week. Informal training through involvement in all areas of church life: from helping to plan, set up and lead activities, to visiting church members, to giving Bible talks and preaching (as appropriate). In addition, there will be regular meetings with a ministry mentor who will work with the trainee to set goals and give feedback in order to maximise the benefit of the experience for the trainee.

Required Skills

The trainee will need:

  • Eagerness to serve.
  • Dedication to fulfil assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Willingness to embrace challenging situations as opportunities to learn and grow.
  • Commitment to develop discipline in the use of non-supervised time.
