Role Overview

Hoylake Evangelical Church (HEC) is seeking to appoint a full-time Associate Pastor for Evangelism. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for pioneering new evangelistic ministries but will also contribute to the preaching and pastoral ministry of HEC. Since HEC believes the office of elder is restricted to qualified men, we will only be accepting applications from males at this time.

Church Profile

HEC exits to glorify God by making disciples of Christ. We believe that the gospel of Lord Jesus Christ is at the heart of the Bible's message and affirm the inerrancy of Scripture. We are joined by 90-100 worshippers of all ages on Sunday mornings. Our worship style is quite traditional although we sing both new and old hymns.

Role Specifics

The successful candidate will pioneer new evangelistic ministries in Hoylake. He will recruit church members to support the logistical and ministerial needs of these new ministries.

The evangelistic works will be designed for:

- Whole church participation (for e.g. evangelistic mission meetings, events, etc)

- Smaller group settings (for e.g. Christianity Explored, social gatherings etc)

- One to one studies (using and/or developing curriculum for church members to use with unbelievers)

Required Skills

The successful candidate will:

- Possess the character traits and gifts necessary to serve as an elder as found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9

- Be a man of prayer- Be gifted in evangelism

- Recognise the vital role of the church in discipling new believers
