Bradley Stoke Evangelical Church is a vibrant congregation situated in the town of Bradley Stoke, a few miles North of Bristol. Our mission is to know God and to make Him known. Our aim is to give everyone in our area the opportunity to hear and believe the gospel and to be a church of loving, prayerful and effective witnesses to all those we meet.
We started as a small church plant in the 1990’s. We now have 90 members and many young people and children attending various weekly activities. On Sundays we hold morning and afternoon services to accommodate our numbers. The church is diverse in age and background and includes many young families and many different nationalities. We are part of the FIEC. The church is led by 4 elders including the Pastor.
As we thank God for continuing numerical growth, we believe we need to appoint an Assistant Pastor to help our Pastor with all aspects of his ministry in the church. The role will include serving as an elder and a trustee, preaching, teaching, pastoral care, discipleship and evangelism. The role may also include responsibility for a specific area of ministry, depending on gifting. Ideally this will be a full-time role, but we would consider appointing a more experienced applicant to a part-time role.
Required Skills
We are seeking a man who is a mature believer as evidenced by the characteristics required for eldership as laid down in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. He will have a heart for preaching and teaching, evangelism and pastoral care and will have recognised gifts and some experience in these areas. He will have a call to full-time ministry and will have completed a period of formal theological training.
