Ministry Wives Retreat 2021

Our Ministry Wives Retreat is for the wives of men in full-time ministry in FIEC churches and those whose husbands are members of the FIEC Pastors’ Network. The aim is to provide refreshment by means of Bible teaching, fellowship and reflection.

This year, due to the Covid restrictions, the retreat will be held online and will be free of charge.

Theme & Speaker

Our theme this year is 'Adopted as Daughters' and we are delighted that Rachel Sloan, FIEC’s new Woman’s Ministry Co-ordinator will be the speaker. Rachel writes:

As believers we know and rejoice in the fact that through Christ, God forgave us, redeemed us and justified us. But the blessings of the gospel do not end there. Theologian Trevor Burke explains, “God does not only justify people and then leave them destitute with nowhere to go – he adopted them into the warmth and security of his household.” God has another blessing for us. We have been given new status – daughters of God and now have a permanent intimacy with God as our heavenly Father.

Through exploring Ephesians 1 and Romans 8 my prayer is that we will see afresh the wonderful privilege of being adopted as daughters, with God as our father. As we do, we shall see we can live as a daughter in freedom, rather than a slave to fear. We enjoy God’s tender love knowing he carefully provides for all our daily needs. We have hope for the future knowing that we will one day receive a glorious inheritance which will never perish, spoil or fade.

We pray that the Ministry Wives Retreat will be used to impact our lives so that we will be drawn ever closer to the Lord Jesus and encouraged to continue faithfully and joyfully in the work he has given each of us to do.

Programme

On Thursday 27th and Friday 28th May, we are planning to spend the morning together on Zoom from 9:30am to 12noon with a break for coffee. The morning will include the main talks, a seminar and time in small groups.

One the benefits of the Ministry Wives Retreat in previous years has been the opportunity to reflect personally upon the teaching, therefore we will provide some suggestions to do that in the afternoon.

We will then come back together at 3:30pm in small groups, where we will share what we have been learning and pray for one another.

On the Thursday evening we are planning a session of praise and testimony where Johnny Prime, one of FIEC’s Associate National Directors, will bring God’s word to us.

The Retreat will end at 4:30pm on the Friday.
