How do we contend for the faith in a culture of faithlessness? How can we stand firm when the pressure to compromise is so great?
It’s easy to feel discouraged and disheartened as the gospel is attacked from outside the church and undermined from within.
Wonderfully, the letter of Jude speaks into our struggle, warning us of the danger of falling and equipping us to contend with hope—because the God who called us will also keep us to the end.
Theme and speaker
Our theme this year is Kept for Christ and we are delighted that Carolyn Lacey will be our main speaker.
Carolyn lives in Worcester with her husband, Richard, and teenage children. Richard is the lead pastor of Woodgreen Evangelical Church and they have served in pastoral ministry together for 21 years.
Carolyn works part-time as Woodgreen’s Women’s Worker, and also teaches regularly at women’s events and conferences. In her spare time, she enjoys writing, running, and reading historical fiction.
In addition, Johnny Prime, FIEC’s Head of Local Ministries, will be joining us for the first session.
We pray that the 2022 Ministry Wives Retreat will be used to impact our lives so that we will be drawn closer to the Lord Jesus and encouraged to continue faithfully and joyfully in the work he has given each of us to do.
Date and venue
The retreat will begin with tea on Wednesday 18 May and close after lunch on Friday 20 May.
We are glad to be returning this year to Holland House Conference and Retreat Centre between Pershore and Evesham in Worcestershire, where we have been so well looked after previously.
Holland House is an interesting mix of very old and more recent buildings set within three acres of beautiful gardens that slope down to the River Avon. In their words, it's “the ideal location for meeting with friends, colleagues or enjoying the peace and tranquillity.”
