A day conference for pastors and their wives.
This is one of 12 conferences we’re running in different locations throughout 2017. Click here to see the others.
Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. [John 13:3-4]
As he washes his disciples’ feet, it’s striking how the Lord Jesus’ ministry flows out of his strong sense of identity. For many of us in pastoral work, it’s often the other way round: our role shapes the way we relate to the people we serve, understand ourselves, and even how we approach God himself. Our calling to ministry becomes our identity.
Are you tempted to think that you’re only as good as your last sermon? Is your confidence based on your congregation’s approval? Then coming to one of our day conferences in 2017 will help you to refocus on who you are in Christ and better understand how your identity can shape your ministry.
As well as being refreshed by reflecting on the ministry of the Lord Jesus, there will be plenty of time at each conference for us to hear about local gospel initiatives, to pray for each other and to build mutually supportive relationships. In addition, David Shaw, FIEC’s Theological Advisor (or a member of his Theological Team) will help to sharpen our thinking on a particular theological topic.
Each conference will begin at 10am with tea & coffee, and will finish at 3:30pm. Lunch will be provided.
Attendance is free for members of the Pastors’ Network, but there is a charge of £10 for non-members. Wives can attend at no extra cost.
